When Sussex based motor group Yeomans invested over £2million in a brand new purpose built Toyota centre in Eastbourne in 2005 they set themselves the goal of becoming the 'best dealer in town'. However, the staff at Yeomans are now celebrating a far bigger achievement after scooping the coveted ’Best Retailer Of The Year Award 2011' at the Toyota National Business Conference in Birmingham.
Using a balanced scorecard system Toyota rated every centre in the country, looking at new and used car sales, workshop efficiency, parts and accessory sales, customer satisfaction levels and best practices. Having applied the same scoring criteria to every centre in the country Yeomans in Eastbourne was deemed to be the very best, which is something the entire team is incredibly proud of.
Yeomans' Group Operations Director Kevin Newitt said "In our 20 years as Toyota retailers this is without doubt our most significant achievement. This is not an award that Toyota has made because we have excelled in one area of our business - it is an award that recognises that we have excelled in EVERY area of our business over the course of the past year. It is the result of the commitment to complete customer satisfaction that every member of the Yeomans team strives to achieve, and it is nice to have been recognised by Toyota in this way - but we will not be sitting back on our laurels. We fully intend to win the award again next year, and to do that we will have to work harder than ever to deliver our customers an outstanding service if we are to retain our title of Best Toyota Centre in 2012."
The good news was broken to the staff at Eastbourne at a special team meeting back at the centre, where Centre Principal Martin Mortimer was joined by Kevin to present each member of the team with a bottle of champagne and a thank you card for the part that they played in bringing home the award.
